Over the last 300 years, Westerham has grown and expanded, often onto Squerryes land. There are a number of affiliations in the town that include the almshouses, church, and societies, as well as several freehold interests, such as playing fields, allotments, car parks, and buildings for Scouts and sports associations. Squerryes has, and continues to be, committed to the Westerham community, and is undertaking a review of these assets.
Today, the land to the edge of the town boundary on three sides is owned by Squerryes, and we have offered various segments to Sevenoaks District Council as part of the local plan. We believe that in order to thrive for future generations Westerham needs to grow; any development should prioritise retirement living, as well as truly affordable accommodation for working families.
